From Wall-E to BIWA

How the story of a little robot left alone on planet Earth has influenced BIWA first zero waste loft in Britanny?

In 2008, released a new animated film created by Pixar and directed by Andrew Stanton.

At the beginning of XXII century, the company Buy ‘n Large monopolizes the economy of the Earth and becomes a world government. Overconsumption was quick to turn the world into a dump and in an attempt to preserve humanity, the company sponsors a massive exodus aboard spaceships.

During the five years that should last the exodus, the company sends thousands of WALL-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) to clean the Earth. But many are disabled, forcing humans to remain in space.

After 700 years, it remains only a single WALL-E, which replaces its worn parts with those of other WALL-E *.

This film was for me a shock. I saw myself as part of this current consumer society to ruin without even react.

The release of this film is really for me early in my awareness. I had a burning desire to not let me manipulate and take control of my lifestyle to find a balance between living in modernity and preserve the beautiful planet on which we live.
